THE STRONGHOLD OF BABYLON, how did it get here and how it will continue to grow, unless there is a CHANGE OF HEART by the PEOPLE of GOD!!
THROUGH THE “HEART OF THE PEOPLE, defiling GOD'S WAYS and HIS NAME” and THROUGH REBELLION OF
GOD’S DESIRE and WILL!!

JEREMIAH 29: 15 Because
ye have said, The LORD hath raised us up prophets in Babylon
JEREMIAH 29: 16 Know] that thus saith the LORD of the king
that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of all the people that dwelleth in
this city, [and] of your brethren that are not gone
forth with you into captivity;
JEREMIAH 29: 17 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will
send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them
like vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.
JEREMIAH 29: 18 And I will persecute them with the sword,
with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will
deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and
an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither
I have driven them.
READ JEREMIAH 270 29.
A QUICK RUNDOWN of this situation:
JUDAH had certain gone
astray during this period. ISRAEL was already in captivity.
YET many of the FALSE prophets
were still proclaiming “GOD IS WITH US” and HE will
bring us peace, captivity will only be temporary.
GOD does not REWARD UNRIGHTEOUSNESS, because HIS WAYS are JUST and RIGHTEOUS.
HE does not SHOW FAVOR to the UNRIGHTEOUS BEHAVIOR of HIS OWN PEOPLE, for HIS NAME SAKE.
What we do, we do IN HIS
NAME.
HE IS HOLY and HE
IS JEALOUS OF HIS OWN CHARACTER.
Though the warnings of
Jeremiah and his counterparts were giving WARNING after WARNING that if the
PEOPLE didn't repent, BABYLON was coming to ransack
JERUSALEM
NO ONE WOULD LISTEN!!!
(In fact, “70 years are determined for my
people” this is the message DANIEL understood from the PROPHECY of JEREMIAH)
But those LYING “FALSE PROPHETS” insisted that it would not be so, and broke the "WOODEN YOKE” from
around JEREMIAH’S NECK.
THE SITUATION ONLY GOT WORSE
THROUGH THESE REBELLIOUS
ACTS:
THUS the LORD
put a YOKE of IRON upon them.
There are several
interesting things I get out of this story:
What happens when we REBEL
against the LORD’S WILL
1.
When a
TRUE PROPHET of the LORD SPEAKS, and another “FALSE PROPHET” speaks a lie and the
people receive it, it often makes matters WORSE.
REBELLION IS NOT THE
ANSWER:
a. THE LORD “WILL” stand
behind HIS WORD and the WORD of the PROPHET/MESSENGER HE SENDS.
The ONLY INFLUENCE we have is
on the HEART Of GOD and HIS WILL, in INTERCESSORY
PRAYER, and according to the “CHANGE OF HEART/REPENTANCE” in the PEOPLE
and within our own hearts..
2. Those that seek to TAKE the AUTHORITY OF
CHRIST to make changes to the WILL OF GOD, without “A WORD THE LORD” are
generally not motivated by their LOVE FOR GOD or HIS HOLINESS or RIGHTEOUSNESS.
THEY are prophets of itchy ears, and in it for ‘gains
and glory”.
b. A PROPHET does not have
the AUTHORITY to CHANGE the WILL of GOD, HE is
only a MESSENGER “OF” the WILL OF GOD. HIS
authority and power is “OF” GOD through HIS WILL and HIS DESIRE.

The TRUE PROPHET of the LORD,
has HUMILITY BEFORE GOD, and can have some influence, through “intercessory” PRAYER,
on the HEART OF GOD, (standing in the gap) but he KNOWS that he is UNDER the AUTHORITY OF THE GREAT I AM. And will REVERENCE GOD, HIS
AUTHORITY and HIS WILL, above ALL ELSE, “all the way”
throughout their message, in life or in death.
JEREMIAH 27: 18 But if they [be] prophets, and if the word of the LORD be
with them, let them now make intercession to
the LORD of hosts, that the vessels which are
left in the house of the LORD, and [in] the house of the king of Judah , and at Jerusalem ,
go not to Babylon
NOTE: The power is not in the
ASKING, the POWER is in the ANSWER we are GIVEN
by the MOUTH of the LORD.
CONCLUSION:
THEREFORE a few IMPORTANT LESSON can be LEARNED from the passages in JEREMIAH 27-29
“WE” should not
seek to CHANGE the WILL of GOD, by FORCE, ie by our own MIGHT.
IT IS REBELLION to do so, and
worse things shall come upon us:
Nebuchadnezzar was
a vessel of the LORD’S USE.
The LORD USES VESSELS OF
HONOR and DISHONOR to do HIS WILL and PURPOSE upon the earth.
JEREMIAH 27: 6 And now have I given all these lands into the
hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon
JEREMIAH 27: 8 And it shall
come to pass, [that] the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same
Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the
yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the LORD, with
the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed
them by his hand.
NEBUCHADNEZZAR was sent BY
THE FATHER Himself to bring about captivity to a nation, as chastisement for
those that DID NOT HONOR HIS NAME or HIS WAYS.
THE TRUE PROPHET:
At the risk of their own
safety, Jeremiah, and the TRUE PROPHETS of GOD, all PROCLAIMED
the message that ORIGINATED with GOD:
A message of REPENTANCE, and
CAPTIVITY by the BABYLONIAN.
They DID as GOD told them to
do, OFTEN with NO GUARANTEES that their LIVE would be spared.
JUST a SIDE NOTE:
REALLY...FOR all those SELF-PROCLAIMED PROPHETS out there!!.
ARE YOU TRULY BEING SENT TO US BY GOD?
or are you messengers of prosperity and gain, and seeking your own glory IE; Desiring to have the PEOPLE follow you, rather than leading and guiding them to a HOLY GOD.
ARE YOU WILLING going to give YOUR LIFE for the message??
ARE YOU JEALOUS OF GOD'S HOLINESS, RIGHTEOUSNESS, and JUSTICE??
BECAUSE if you CAN'T proclaim that, then I have no use for your message..
It is not a
SELF-APPOINTED POSITION.
I
personally don’t see the TRUE prophets of GOD, jumping up and down, "GIVE ME A MESSAGE". I want to tell the people of ALL the doom and gloom... consistently seeking a message from the LORD
of constant doom and gloom and JUDGEMENT, without a message of REPENTANCE and HUMILITY.
Makes me wonder "WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT?"" ARE we suppose to be more AFRAID of the enemies work than GOD'S GLORY and MIGHTY POWER and our RELATIONSHIP with HIM?
The TRUE PROPHETS, WERE JEALOUS of THEIR GOD, HIS ways and HIS
PRECEPTS and PRINCIPLES.
They had a tremendous REVERENCE for the LORD, and they had TRUE FAITH, going beyond what they DESIRED
and the SAFETY of their own FLESH to proclaim the TRUTH
and THE MESSAGE.
They also had a TRUE
LOVE for the PEOPLE of GOD and the CITY OF GOD , JERUSALEM
HOWEVER, they didn’t not
allow that LOVE FOR GOD’S PEOPLE, defile the TRUTH
or seek to take AUTHORITY to CHANGE the WILL OF GOD.

eyes to see and ears to HEAR.

VICTORY to be had, or any GOOD, it must first begin with HUMILITY BEFORE GOD.
2 CH 7: 14 If my people, which are called by my name,
EVERY STEP FOR PRAY is found in 1 CH 7: 14:
IF MY PEOPLE, which are CALLED BY MY NAME.
1. shall humble themselves,
2. and pray,
3. and seek my face,
4 and turn from their wicked
ways;
4. then will I hear from heaven,
5. and will forgive their
sin, and will heal their land.
IT MUST BEGIN with INTERCESSORY PRAYER.
A DAY OF REPENTANCE and A FRESH NEW COMMITMENT
TO GOD’S WAYS and HIS PRECEPTS.
